      <image:title>Services - Urinary Dysfunction</image:title>
<image:caption>Problems with urinary leakage, urgency and frequency (overactive bladder) are all too common. These conditions occur in people of all ages and all genders. A lot of people think that if they just do Kegels, then this problem will go away. However, urinary dysfunction can be complex and Kegels may not be appropriate or adequate for your condition. There are different types of urinary incontinence, and they often need to be treated differently. I will work to help identify what type of dysfunction you have and treat all aspects of it to rehabilitate your urinary function.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Services - Pelvic Pain</image:title>
<image:caption>Pelvic pain can be a complex condition with many layers of dysfunction in the body. Some types of pelvic that are appropriate for pelvic health physical therapy include painful bladder syndrome / interstitial cystitis, endometriosis, vulvodynia, vestibulodynia, pain with sexual functions, coccydynia / tailbone pain, persistent genital arousal disorder, and pudendal neuralgia. I will work with you to identify contributing factors to your pain and guide you on a path forward to heal mind and body through myofascial release, therapeutic exercise, functional nutrition, sleep hygiene, and helping to regulate and rewire the nervous system.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Services - Bowel Dysfunction</image:title>
<image:caption>Gastrointestinal disorders that I treat include constipation, difficulty voiding, irritable bowel syndrome and incontinence. Lets work together to identify the contributing factors to your GI dysfunction and treat them appropriately.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Services - Pelvic Organ Prolapse / Hernias</image:title>
<image:caption>Conservative rehabilitation is a great option for mild/moderate cases of prolapse, a condition that will affect approximately half of all women. I also work with clients for pre-surgery and post-surgery rehabilitation. We will identify your personal risk factors for prolapse, teach you to modulate the pressures on the pelvic floor and abdomen, treat any scars or soft tissue restrictions that are thought to be contributing to the problem, and train the muscles that support the pelvic organs. Pessary fitting is also offered when appropriate.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Services - EMG Biofeedback</image:title>
<image:caption>Surface electromyography (EMG) of the pelvic floor muscles is frequently used in my practice to provide information about your muscles. It is often helpful for people to see their muscle activity represented on a screen. It provides feedback about your ability to relax, contract, sustain contractions, coordinate for toileting and more. I am board certified in biofeedback for pelvic muscle dysfunction.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Services - Men’s Health</image:title>
<image:caption>Men are welcome here! While I am less experienced in treating men, I welcome them to my practice and can help with urinary, bowel, erectile dysfunction, and pre/post prostatectomy. Physical therapy can greatly improve outcomes for many men with these conditions!</image:caption>

      <image:title>Services - Pregnancy and Postpartum</image:title>
<image:caption>Women will benefit from pelvic health physical therapy to learn about how to best care for their changing bodies during pregnancy and in the postpartum period. There is a lot that we can do to preserve our pelvic floor function before and after our babies are born. I can evaluate your pelvic floor muscles to make sure they are ready for birth, and teach you how to rehabilitate them after birth. The other deep core muscles benefit from rehabilitation after birth as well. If you have separation in the abdominal muscles (diastasis recti) after birth, I will help you to restore function in abdominals. Women will also benefit from training on body mechanics and ergonomics for breastfeeding, baby lifting, baby carrying and more.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Services - Myofascial Release</image:title>
<image:caption>I have training through the John Barnes Myofascial Release Center including the Myofascial Release level 1 course and a Skills Enhancement Seminar where I spent one week working alongside seasoned myofascial release therapists at the “Sanctuary.” I find myofascial release to be a powerful treatment tool for relieving pain, improving range of motion, and in some cases - restoring alignment.</image:caption>

      <image:title>The First Visit - What to Expect</image:title>
<image:caption>The first visit usually takes 60-90 minutes. I will spend time discussing your goals for physical therapy and that will guide the plan of care that we develop together. I will ask relevant questions about your health and life situation, and will conduct a thorough assessment that will inform me on how to best treat you. This assessment may include posture, movement analysis, strength and range of motion testing, endurance testing, and hands on palpation. An internal vaginal or rectal exam may be recommended, but it is always a choice for you. The results of these assessments will be explained to you. You will most likely be given homework to start on the first day, but your time limitations will be respected. Your plan of care will be established based on the information you communicate, and the findings from the physical assessment. Lastly, you and I will establish a plan for how many visits and how often you need to schedule sessions.</image:caption>

      <image:title>The First Visit - What to Wear</image:title>
<image:caption>Comfortable clothes will be important on your first visit and for follow up visits. I want you to be able to move freely and if I need to palpate your muscles and bones, it is much easier to feel through soft and stretching clothing as opposed to denim. If you don’t have exercise attire yet, then we will work with what you have.</image:caption>
